Burn/Adv Care PCU RN

Role

• Registered Nurse assignment in a unit that specializes in patients with burn injuries, muscle flaps, and head and neck surgeries.
• The population is both ICU and Adv Care.
• Travel nurses are used in the critical care population.
• Agency nurses will not be asked to do burn dressings.

Schedule

• Night shift: 4x12 hours, 19:00–7:00
• 48 hours per week
• Must be able to work at minimum every other holiday
• Must be available to work every other weekend/holiday

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• Experience with mechanical ventilation
• IV insertion skills
• Telemetry experience
• Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

• Level 1 or 2 hospital experience
• Travel experience

Floating / Assignment Scope

• Traveler will be first to float at discretion.
• May float in and out of specialty clusters.
• If assigned to MVH, may float to the main campus (Dayton), south campus (Centerville), and North Campus (Englewood).

Additional Notes

• Nurses will be fitted for N95 before working on the HRRU unit unless PAPR is offered or needed.
• Unit may use a team nursing model where RNs, LPNs, and PCTs partner together to care for a group of patients.
