Location: Lakewood, California Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• Shift: Day, 07:00-19:30 (3x12-hour shifts)
• Hours: 12 per day, 36 per week
• Float Required: Yes
• Weekend Coverage: Yes

Required Qualifications

• Valid California RN license
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience: minimum 1 year, with experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic

Health and Background Requirements

• Background check: Criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually. Seven-year search includes statewide, nationwide, sex offender, SS trace, and federal searches.
• Physical exam: Within 1 year of start, updated annually.
• N95 fit test: Within 1 year of start, renewed annually. PAPR is acceptable only with proof of a failed N95 fit test.
• TB: Negative PPD, TSpot, or QuantiFERON within 1 year of start. Positive TB requires a negative chest X-ray within 4 years and an annual TB questionnaire.
• Drug screen: 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start. Instant drug screen is acceptable. Not updated annually.
• Vaccines and titers:

  • Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella: positive titer, or 2 vaccines after age 1. Negative or equivocal titers require 2 boosters, and the candidate may start with the second booster pending.
  • Hepatitis B: vaccine series or declination. Titer is not acceptable.
  • Hepatitis C: titer strongly preferred. Declination is accepted with a reason, and the candidate must understand they are declining the titer, not a vaccine.
  • Tetanus/diphtheria/Tdap: required. If it cannot be obtained for a health reason, a pertussis titer showing immunity is needed.
  • Flu: vaccine or signed declination required by 12/5. Candidates who are not fully vaccinated for COVID must mask on campus.
• References: 2 within 1 year of start in the current specialty, from a leadership role (department manager, supervisor, charge nurse, nurse manager, or assistant nurse manager).

Orientation

• Orientation modules can be completed on site or at home after activating a NetID. Modules must be completed before starting on the floor.
