MICU RN

Overview

• 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU in a Level III Trauma Center
• Adult ICU role with Med Surg floating required
• 36 hours per week
• Day/Eve/Night coverage with every other weekend
• Day positions rotate between 7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a when needed
• Night shift does not rotate
• RN to patient ratio: 1:2 or 1:1 with high acuity; 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to Med/Surg areas
• Free on-site parking

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• 2 years of MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit experience
• MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
• Ability to read telemetry strips
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association

Preferred

• MICU experience

Additional Notes

• Floating required, mostly to Medical/Surgical units
• Patient population includes adults with substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock
