RN - Intermediate Care Unit

Overview

• Location: Rockford, Illinois
• Employment Type: Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• Hours per Week: 36

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience of 2 years, including experience within the last year
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing

Responsibilities

• Use the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in patient care
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and state laws and practice act
• Document according to standards of care
• Develop, initiate, and carry out individualized patient plans of care as prescribed by physicians and/or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units and departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care
• Apply critical thinking to patient safety and patient experience, and escalate appropriately through the chain of command
