Staff RN - Surgical Med/Surg / PCU - Nights

Location: Lancaster, Ohio Employment Type: Contract, full-time Contract Length: 13 weeks Hours: 36 per week Shift: 7pm - 7:30am

Requirements

• Valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Ohio
• PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience of at least 1 year, including experience within the last year
• BLS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Med Surg experience

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise individual patient care using the nursing process
• Direct co-workers and delegate role-appropriate tasks
• Provide patient and family education from admission through discharge
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, and implement physician orders as written
• Notify physicians of pertinent observations and changes in patient status
• Document thoroughly, concisely, and accurately
• Supervise and direct the work of nursing assistants (NAs)

• Ability to handle multiple priorities, make independent decisions, and manage urgent situations calmly
• Physical demand level: Heavy work, with frequent patient handling
• Potential exposure to electrical equipment
