Medical Surgical RN

Location: Lakewood, California Contract Length: 13 weeks Employment Type: Travel/Contract Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics

Schedule

• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 to 19:30
• 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Candidate Eligibility

• First-time travelers are accepted.
• Local candidates are accepted.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Med Surg experience (2 years)
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Epic

Preferred or Conditional Items

• Hepatitis C: titer strongly preferred, but a declination is accepted if it includes a reason and is not blank or "N/A."
• Flu vaccine or signed declination is required by 12/5 for the 2026-27 season. Candidates who are not fully vaccinated for COVID must wear masks on campus, and candidates who are fully vaccinated with the current flu shot and COVID booster may qualify for exemption from some masking areas.
• NIH Stroke certification is not required for Med Surg RNs.

Onboarding

• Orientation modules can be completed onsite on Day 2 or at home after NetID activation, and must be completed before working on the floor.
• A Pyxis agreement is required for travel RNs and is due 5 business days before orientation.
