MS/Tele Registered Nurse

Location: Aurora, Illinois Employment type: Travel/Contract Contract length: 13 weeks

Overview

• Float pool nurses assigned adult patients on medical surgical units (4 units)
• Need 2 full-time day shift RNs

Schedule

• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 to 19:30
• 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Valid Illinois RN license in hand required
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience: 1 year, completed within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Certifications

• ACLS (American Heart Association only) for MS/Tel and All Tele
• BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross only)
• Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start
• NURSYS verification within 30 days of start

Competencies and Skills

• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam: minimum passing score of 80% (higher if the Angoff score is above 80%)
• Area-specific competency exams for all departments, with at least an 80% pass rate
• Skills checklist for the applicable unit, updated annually

Health and Screening Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by an MD, NP, or PA; not required annually
• Tdap within 10 years of start (Td not accepted); a declination is accepted only with a record of prior vaccination after age 10
• Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella: 2 vaccine doses or positive IgG titer (titers with numeric values must include reference ranges); low titer requires one dose and a second dose within 28-30 days
• Hepatitis B surface antibody titer required; if negative, vaccine series or a facility declination form is required
• TB screening: QuantiFERON/TSPOT within 90 days of start, or 2 PPDs; annual TB questionnaire required
• Flu vaccination or exemption documentation on file before October 30 for the 2026-27 flu season
• COVID vaccination not required, but documentation should be provided if vaccinated
• Fit mask testing completed onsite
• Drug screen: 9-panel test excluding marijuana, initiated within 24-48 hours of offer acceptance and completed within 90 days of start; rapid drug screens not accepted; lab results must show nitrate and creatinine levels with values and cutoffs

Background and Verification

• Criminal background check within 30 days of start, with lookback as required (lifetime lookback for new contracts starting on or after 10/1/2026)
• Exclusion checks within 30 days of start: EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and other required searches, including international searches when applicable
• E-Verify attestation required
• Illinois Health Care Worker Registry search results required

Onboarding Documents

• Illinois DCFS Mandated Reporter Status Form and mandated reporter training certificate (valid 3 years)
• Employment application covering 7 years of employment, with explanations for gaps greater than 30 days
• Two professional references within 3 years of hire (direct hires only)
• Government-issued photo ID
• Facility-specific forms: Contractor Data Form, TB questionnaire, and Hep B or Tdap declination forms if applicable
