CVICU Registered Nurse

Location: Dayton, Ohio Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Night, 4x12 hours (19:00 to 7:30), 48 hours per week Hours Options: 36- or 48-hour shifts available

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Ohio
Minimum 1 year of CVICU experience, with CVICU experience within the last year
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or RQI
BLS issued by American Heart Association or RQI
NIHSS certification
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience working with cardiac surgery patients
Experience with Impella
Post cardiac surgery (not directly from the OR)
Pre/post cardiac cath/intervention experience
Experience with Swan-Ganz catheters
Experience with thermodilution
Experience with arterial lines
Experience with ventilator management
Experience with arterial blood gas sampling
Experience with Epic

Schedule and Assignment Details

Targeted patient ratio is 1:2
Unit typically runs 1:2 with 36-bed units
Works with telemetry, drips, and ventilators
Navy blue scrubs
Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday
Traveler is first to float at the facility's discretion, within specialty clusters, to a medically appropriate assignment or to support the nursing team of the unit floated to
May float to other campuses within 15 miles of the main campus
Facility may cancel 2 shifts for low census during the 13-week contract
Facility may cancel the agreement with 2 weeks' notice without fee or fine

Return to Onsite (RTO)

RTO must be requested with the initial submittal; no RTO will be added after the offer
RTO approval is at the manager's discretion
Submittal must include the application and a current Nursys report
