Location: Urbana, Illinois Shift: Night, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (12 hours per day, 36 hours per week) Contract Length: 59,432 weeks On Call: None

Role Summary

The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN delivers care using the nursing process and aligns with institutional philosophy.

Key Responsibilities

Completes initial patient assessments and develops and modifies plans of care based on patient and family needs and continuous evaluation
Implements nursing interventions and patient care procedures
Maintains accurate, up-to-date nursing care documentation
Monitors EMU patients 24/7 for seizure activity
Communicates through hourly rounding, bedside shift report, and whiteboards
Works with the critical care team and hospitalists for Advanced Care patients
Reports and corrects safety hazards and incidents
Provides constructive feedback to peers and fulfills all departmental competencies

Required Qualifications

Valid Illinois RN license in good standing
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience of 3 years
PCU experience within the last year
Neurology experience
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
