Pediatric ICU Nurse (RN PICU)
Location: Austin, Texas Employment Type: Long-term assignment (LTA) Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: 18:45 - 07:15
Unit and Assignment
- Unit: PICU, 24-bed unit in a central location
- Acuity: High acuity, fast-paced ICU
- Level 1 Trauma Center
- Case types: Neurology, renal, pulmonary, surgical, and medical ICU
- Ratios: 1:1, or 1:2 for ICU status
- Float scope: Floats to all areas when needed, including CVICU
- Second location: 12-bed PICU at the north campus
- Dress code: Navy scrubs; pediatric print tops allowed
Required Qualifications
- License: Valid RN license in Texas
- Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience: 2 years of PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care) experience
- Recent experience: PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care) experience within the last year
- BLS: Basic Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association
- PALS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Driver's license or state ID: Must not be expired and must match address on file

- Onboarding: Pre-hire education attestation (6 hours); onsite nursing contract worker onboarding; Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules (required annually)
- Badge photo: Forward-facing headshot on a white or blue background, no filters
- Confirmation of assignment: On agency letterhead, provided at initial assignment and each extension
- Unit-specific checklist (optional): Uploaded by unit leader within 1 week
