Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Charleston, West Virginia
• Surgical Services assignment
• 13-week contract
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 6:45 AM–7:15 PM
• Weekdays with on-call coverage
• Unit has 14 rooms
• Average daily census: 25
• No floating required
• Guaranteed hours: 32–40/week

Required Qualifications

• CVOR Technologist with 2 years of experience
• CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NBSTSA
• Experience working with Cardiovascular Surgery or General Surgery patients
• Experience working with Thoracic patients
• Surgery required (General, Endo/Laparoscopic, Thoracic)

Preferred Qualifications

• CVOR experience in:

  • Atherectomy
  • Atrial Septal Defect Repair
  • Cardiomyplasty
  • Femoral Popliteal Bypass Graft
  • Robotic Assisted Cardiac Surgery
  • TAVR
  • VAD
• Surgery experience in:

  • Vascular
  • Urology
  • Ortho/Total Joints

Schedule and Call

• Occasional weeknight call: 7 PM–7 AM
• Weekend call: 1 weekend per month, or 2 weekends in a 5-week schedule; call only Saturday and until 11 PM on Sunday
• Weekends are not scheduled, call only

Facility Notes

• Short-Term Acute Care
• Level IV Trauma Center
• Major teaching hospital
• 838 staffed beds
• Cerner and Accudose used for charting
• Free parking for travelers

Additional Notes

• Orientation is held every other week on Monday
• Blocked schedule opportunity can be discussed in interviews
• 100-mile radius rule applies; 75–99 miles may be sent for facility approval
• Flu shot is required unless there is approved medical documentation
• COVID vaccine is not required
