Social Worker

Location: Holyoke, Massachusetts Employment Type: Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Specialty: Behavioral Health Shift: Day, full time (40 hours per week), no weekends required, but the role requires working every other weekend and every other holiday

Role Overview

The Social Worker is an integral part of a multidisciplinary inpatient treatment team. The role provides direct and indirect care to patients, families, and legal guardians, and works with physicians, nurse practitioners, and direct care staff.

Responsibilities

• Administer biopsychosocial assessments, multidisciplinary treatment planning, case management, individual and family therapy, and systems interventions aimed at comprehensive discharge strategies and aftercare planning.
• Help develop, implement, and document patient goals and interventions based on patient strengths and presenting psychiatric problems.
• Assist with insurance utilization review.
• Serve as liaison to patients, families, guardians, the hospital, and outside community agencies and programs for care coordination.
• Must be willing to float to similar or lower acuity units if needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in Massachusetts
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 3 years of experience
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker experience within the last year
• Clinical master's degree
• Experience in an inpatient setting
• Experience in an acute care setting
• Advanced level knowledge and experience in the application of family system modalities for patients with psychiatric illnesses
