Overview

• Location: Garden City, Kansas (southwest Kansas)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
• Unit: OR RN, with 4 ORs and 1 GI endoscopy room
• Average Volume: 10 cases per day
• Common Cases: Robotic and laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hernia, appendectomy, basic orthopedics, gynecology, podiatry

Required Qualifications

• BLS (AHA)
• Valid driver's license, which must be submitted
• Must be in state for the week of orientation, even if first-day modules are remote

Preferred Qualifications

• Robotic and GI experience

Schedule and Call

• Monday through Friday, 0630-1500
• Evening and weekend call required, including holidays
• Weeknight call: 1500-0700
• Weekend call: 0700-0700. Most staff take Saturday and Sunday together, but this is not required.
• Call response time: 30 minutes

Role Details

• Does not require RNs to scrub.
• The facility has charge nurse and house supervisor roles, but this position will not work in either.
• At least 1 OR tech and 1 first assistant (FA) are staffed for most cases.
• Scrubs: Ceil Blue, provided
• Orientation includes a checkoff for contract staff and time with staff until comfortable.

Floating

• No floating outside the OR.
• In an extreme need, may float within Zone 4.

• Profile review with the clinical team, followed by an interview with the unit manager.
