Respiratory Therapist

Overview

Travel assignment in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
13-week contract
Start date: ASAP
Guaranteed 36 hours per week
12-hour day shift, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
Every other weekend rotation, occasionally every 3rd
May be scheduled for holidays if necessary
On-call/call-back: N/A
Contract may be terminated with 2 weeks’ notice if census dictates

Unit / Float Scope

Primarily PICU and NICU
May float to general med/surg acute care units and EDTC
Based in a pediatric critical care / NICU setting, including a 70-bed Level IV NICU

Required Qualifications

Valid Pediatric Respiratory Therapist license in Wisconsin
Pediatric Respiratory Therapist (3 years of experience)
Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association
PALS issued by American Heart Association
NRP
Associate degree or certificate
Experience working with NICU Level 4 or PICU patients
Experience in a Critical Care setting
Experience with intubation
Experience with extubation
Experience with suctioning
Knowledge of invasive and non-invasive ventilation
Experience with Siemens ventilators (Servo I and Servo u)
Experience with LTV ventilators
Experience with Astral ventilators
Experience with Trilogy ventilators

Preferred

Epic Clin Doc familiarity

Skills / Clinical Experience

Vent management
Intubations and extubations
Suctioning and respiratory treatments
Experience with invasive and non-invasive ventilation
CPAP, BiPAP, RAM cannula, NAVA ventilation, PEP, INO
Ventilator experience with Servo I, Servo u, LTVs, Astral, Trilogy, and oscillators
Experience with trach patients

Additional Notes

If the Wisconsin license is not in hand, the facility encourages applying for the Act 10 temporary license
Scrubs: any professional scrubs
Nose stud permitted; no other visible body piercings except ear piercings; clear or flesh-colored piercing plugs allowed
