Assignment Overview

• Contract: 10 weeks, winter coverage only
• Start date: Must start by 12/18/2026 (ASAP)
• Shift: Day, 3x12 hours (7:00 to 19:00)
• Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
• Unit: Observation Unit
• Ratios: Average 1:4 to 1:5
• Float scope: Floats between sister units within scope to meet facility needs
• Local radius restrictions: Waived for the 10-week assignment
• Guaranteed hours: Yes

Schedule Requirements

• Weekends: Every other weekend
• Holiday time off: Not available
• Requested time off: No more than 5 days
• On-call: Not required
• Block schedule: Not accommodated

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Connecticut
• 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Health Requirements

• Physical exam: Within 12 months of start, no annual update needed
• TB screening (one of the following):

  • Negative T-Spot or QuantiFERON-Gold within 6 months of start
  • Two negative PPDs at least 1 week apart within 12 months of start. The second PPD may be pending at start.
  • For positive history: chest X-ray within 1 year of start, plus TB questionnaire and documentation of positive TB
• TB questionnaire: Required annually
• Measles, mumps, rubella: Positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines. Low titers may require boosters.
• Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history. Low or equivocal results require boosters.
• Hepatitis B: Positive titer, proof of 3-dose series, or declination within 1 year of start
• Influenza vaccine: Required during flu season (09/01 to 03/31) with a deadline of 12/01. Vaccine or medical/religious exemption required. Declinations are not allowed.
• Fit test (N95): Within 12 months of start, updated annually. Candidates must be clean-shaven for fit testing.
• Medical exemptions: Require the facility form, completed by the candidate and their medical provider
