Psych RN (Behavioral Health)

Location: West Hartford, Connecticut Assignment: Travel/Contract, 13 weeks, start as soon as possible Hours: 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day Ratio: 1:6 or 1:7, depending on patient acuity

Schedule

• Evening shift: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, 3 evenings, Monday through Friday
• Every other weekend: Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Day shift option listed: 3 x 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend/on-call requirements: No
• Floating requirements: No

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Connecticut
• Behavioral Health experience, minimum 1 year
• Behavioral Health experience within the last year
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Long Term Care experience
• Skilled Nursing experience

Onboarding and Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID
• Emergency contact form, required before start
• Background check within 1 year of start, updated annually, including SSN trace, county searches for the last 7 years, nationwide search, and sex offender registry
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks, completed annually
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year of start, or a negative chest X-ray if past positive, with annual TB questionnaire
• Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella immunity documentation (titer, vaccine series, or declination; details vary by birth year)
• 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (instant drug screen accepted)
• Seasonal flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (10/1 to 3/31)
• Two professional references (travel, allied, or per diem acute care)
• Skills checklist, completed annually
• Facility information sheet, must be signed by all candidates
