Position Overview

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (ER RN)
• Location: Columbia, South Carolina
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Facility type: Free-standing ER facility with 14 rooms, including a resuscitation room
• Schedule: 3x12-hour mid-shift (11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.), 36 hours per week, holidays as needed
• Patient ratio: 1:5
• Weekends: Every other weekend
• Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• On-call: Not required
• Float: Not required to float within scope or between like units or sister facilities
• Scrub color: Royal Blue
• Parking: No cost

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Epic

Preferred

• COVID vaccination records (highly preferred, not required)
• Diploma or transcript showing area of study and degree (highly preferred)

Not Required

• TNCC is not required for ER RNs.

Other Details

• Block schedule: Approval may be requested before assignment but is not guaranteed.
• Local candidates: Accepted within a 60-mile radius.
• Time-off requests: All requests must be submitted with the offer. Approval depends on facility needs.
• Hurricane season: During hurricane season (June through November, peak in August and September), all staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams. Travelers who object should not confirm new or extended assignments during this period.
• Pre-start: Facility modules must be completed before orientation, or the traveler will be sent home. Modules take about 2 hours on a computer, not a phone.
