Role Summary

• Provides direct nursing care according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans, and monitors, records, and communicates patient condition.
• Serves as primary coordinator of all disciplines for patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates discharge planning with the healthcare team.
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
• Follows Standard Precautions and uses personal protective equipment as required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Med Surg experience of at least 1 year, with experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• NIHSS certification.
• Valid driver's license.

Onboarding Requirements

• Pre-hire education modules totaling 6 hours; attestation uploaded by the agency once completed.
• Nursing contract worker onboarding completed onsite.
• Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules completed before clearance, required annually.
• Electronic medical record test-out with training checklist and signed attestation.
• Unit-specific checklist is optional for onboarding but must be uploaded by the unit leader within one week.
