Required Qualifications

• Valid RDN (Registered Dietitian Nutritionist) license in California
• 2 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)
• RDN experience within the last year
• Experience working with adult patients
• Experience in an acute care setting
• Experience in a clinic or outpatient setting
• Experience with enteral and parenteral nutrition, including enteral nutrition (tube feedings) and total parenteral nutrition (TPN)
• Nutrition Focused Physical Exam (NFPE)
• Experience with dialysis, hemodialysis, or CRRT
• Experience with pressor use and its effects on GI functioning
• Experience with diuretics

Onboarding Requirements

Background and Eligibility

• Criminal background check within 30 days of start (7-year search, including SSN trace, county and state searches, national sex offender search, nationwide criminal search, and international searches if applicable)
• E-Verify
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Copy of a valid driver's license or state ID, clear and fully visible
• Employment application covering the last 3 years; gaps longer than 6 months must be documented with city and state
• Two clinical references from someone in a clinical leadership role (charge RNs acceptable), with one from the most recent employer or an employer within the last 6 months. The second reference may be pending at start if it cannot be obtained.

Health Documents

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Drug testing: negative 10-panel within 30 days of start
• TB screening: QuantiFERON or T-SPOT within 90 days of start, or two PPDs (first within 365 days, second within 90 days of start). A positive screen requires proof of the past positive result, a chest X-ray within 1 year, and a TB questionnaire.
• TB questionnaire, updated annually
• Tdap documentation within the past 10 years (declinations not accepted)
• Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella: positive titer or two vaccines after age 1 (declinations not accepted; medical exemptions require approval)
• Hepatitis B titer (a signed declination alone is not accepted)
• Flu vaccine or Aya declination required by November 1 (2026-27 season)
• Fit testing within 1 year of start. Acceptable masks: N95 3M 1860 (small/regular), 3M 1870+, or N95 8210 (must be worn with a face shield). PAPR is acceptable if all mask options fail fit testing.

Competencies and Training

• Core Part I, II, and III exams completed before start, updated annually (2 attempts allowed)
• Unit-specific competency exam with an 80% passing score (2 attempts allowed)
• Unit-specific skills checklist
• Signed confidentiality statement and HIPAA training completed before start, with a screenshot of the confirmation page uploaded
• All orientation modules completed before start date

Badging

• Badge must be picked up in person at the health administrative offices in Rancho Cordova, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, after receiving the badge email. A non-expired photo ID is required.
