Registered Nurse - MS/Tele

Location: Bend, Oregon Employment type: Travel/Contract Contract length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• Day shift, 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 to 19:30
• 12 hours per day, 48 hours per week
• Weekend shifts required: one per week of contact, which may be every other weekend or spread across weekends
• On-call: not required. No scheduled shifts, but may be placed on standby.
• Return-to-office restrictions: 7 days

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Oregon
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
• Trauma experience
• Oncology experience
• Experience with Colorectal Surgery
• Experience with Total Joint Surgery
• Bariatric experience

Float and Assignment Scope

• May float within scope to any med surg unit in the system and to any unit as a 1:1 observer
• Float area covers four campus locations:

  • Level 2 trauma center (218)
  • 15-bed critical access hospital
  • 12-bed critical access hospital
  • 36-bed level 4 trauma center
• May be assigned as primary RN in any med surg department, or as a 1:1 observer in any clinical department
• May be assigned to the ED to care for boarding med surg patients
• Local candidates: not accepted, due to a 75-mile radius rule. Proof of address is required.
• Pending license: accepted

Background and Compliance

• 7-year criminal background check (SSN trace, counties lived/worked/school, FACIS L3, DOJ sex offender search, nationwide), completed within 90 days of start and updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check, within 90 days of start
• HHS/OIG check, within 90 days of start
• Negative 12-panel drug screen, within 90 days of start (not required annually)

Health Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required annually)
• Tdap within 10 years of start, given after age 19 (declination accepted)
• TB: negative QuantiFERON (QGold) within 1 year of start. Positive responders need a negative chest X-ray within 5 years and an annual TB questionnaire. TSpot and PPD are no longer accepted as of 4/2026.
• TB questionnaire, updated annually
• Measles (rubeola), mumps, rubella, and varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines. Low or equivocal titers accept 1 booster or declination.
• Hepatitis B: positive titer required (vaccine series alone is not acceptable). Low or equivocal titers accept a booster or declination.
• Flu vaccine or declination/exemption required during flu season (10/1 to 3/31), with a deadline of 12/01. Masking is required during high transmission regardless of vaccine status.
• COVID vaccine preferred, not required. Declination or exemption required if never vaccinated.
• RespSafety clearance within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Skills checklist, updated annually

• Photo for badge: clear, passport-style, solid background
• Facility acceptable use and confidentiality agreement
• Contractual and third-party access agreement
• Compliance and privacy program attestation
• Emergency contact form
• All time-sensitive documents must be on file within 48 hours of signing and no later than 2 Wednesdays before start.
