CVOR Tech

Overview

• Hours: 8 per day, 40 per week

Required Qualifications

• 3 years of experience, including CVOR, general OR, and trauma experience
• Experience as a CVOR Certified Surgical Technician
• Does not accept first-time travelers; prior travel experience is required
• Local candidates are accepted
• BLS certification (ARC or AHA accepted)
• National tech certification verification, as applicable
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam and competency exam, as applicable to profession and specialty

Call Requirements

• Heavy call requirements
• Call range is 30 minutes
• Two CVOR Certified Surgical Technicians, FA, and two CVOR RNs are on call daily, weekends, and holidays

Background and Screening

• 7-year background check completed within 1 year of start and updated annually, including SSN trace, county searches for the last 7 years of locations lived, worked, or attended school, nationwide search, and sex offender registry
• Wisconsin Caregiver Search Results required within 90 days of start; agency must run the search

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start; does not need annual updates
• QGold required within 1 year of start; TSpot/PPD not accepted
• Negative chest X-ray within 60 days of start date, if used in place of TB test
• Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines (if low or equivocal titers, proof of 2 vaccines post-titer, 28 days apart, is required)
• Hepatitis B: titer, series, or declination
• Flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (October to March); submissions due starting October 1, working candidate deadline 11/30
• 10-panel drug screen with expanded opiates within 14 days of start; instant drug screens not accepted; not required annually; a positive marijuana test is not a disqualifier

Other Requirements

• Two professional references verified within 2 years of start
• Skills checklist required annually
• Badge photo required: facing the camera, no filters, no visible piercings, no hats or scrub hats, passport-style from shoulders up
• Confidentiality statement signed prior to start
• Compliance checklist completed by agency representative once the candidate is compliant
