Registered Nurse – Oncology
Location: La Jolla, California Employment Type: Travel/Contract, 13 weeks Shift: Night, 3x12 hours (19:00–07:30) Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Oncology experience (2 years)
- Oncology experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or Resuscitation Quality Improvement
- ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC)
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience with Epic
- Experience with Cerner
Background, Health, and Compliance Requirements
- Seven-year criminal background check, including SSN trace, county and statewide searches, federal and national criminal searches, and national sex offender search (international searches not required)
- HHS/OIG check
- Nine-panel drug test within 1 year of start
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Tdap vaccine (declinations not accepted)
- Negative TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON, or T-SPOT) within 12 months of start, with yearly updates; a chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire are required if the PPD is positive
- Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella: two vaccines or titer; negative or equivocal titers require two boosters (declinations not accepted)
- Hepatitis B: vaccine series, titer, or signed declination
- COVID-19 vaccination (fully vaccinated) or an approved medical or religious exemption
- Annual flu vaccination or agency declination
- N95 fit test within one year of start (onsite testing not available; a PAPR mask must be brought if fit test fails)
- Vaccine attestation form
- Two satisfactory references

Pre-Start Documents and Training
- Facility learning modules, approximately 8 hours, completed by the Monday before start, with a PDF transcript submitted (screenshots not accepted)
- Standards of conduct acknowledgment and confidentiality/non-disclosure agreement, signed before start and renewed each calendar year
- Documentation checklist and agency validation of qualifications form, signed within 30 days of start
- Proof of W-4 on file
