Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT)

Location: Stevens Point, Wisconsin Employment type: Travel Contract length: 13 weeks Start date: ASAP

Schedule and Shifts

• Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts
• Format: 3 x 12 shifts with variable days, mids, and nights
• Guaranteed hours: 36 per week, except during holidays when the unit is closed
• Hours are not guaranteed during the orientation week
• Weekends and holidays: every third weekend and holiday rotation
• On call: eligible for 36 hours of unbillable low-census hours; traveler can be put on call with a 2-hour minimum call-back

Role and Coverage

• Respiratory Therapy supports all patient care areas of the hospital, including the ED and general care areas.
• Provides emergency services for Rapid Response and Code Blue.
• Float requirement: must be willing to float to other facilities in the system.
• Radius rule: contractors must live outside a 50-mile radius.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Respiratory Therapy - NICU (2 years of experience)
• Certified Respiratory Therapy - NICU experience within the last year
• Advanced NRP
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS
• Associate degree or certificate
• Registered Respiratory Therapist experience

Skills

• Basic respiratory care, critical care, and ventilator management
• Patient assessment using Assess and Treat protocols
• Care for all age groups
• Hard worker, resilient, manages change well, and sociable

Dress Code

• Closed-toe shoes
• Scrubs in any color, kept clean
• No smoking or scented products
• Piercings per dress code policy
