ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience with arterial lines
Experience with central line management
Experience with blood product administration
Experience with chest tube insertion/management
Experience with CPAP/BiPAP
Experience with arterial blood gas sampling
Experience with intubation
Experience with ventilator management
Experience with continuous IV paralytics
Experience with continuous IV sedation
Weekend coverage required every third weekend, or 8 weekend shifts in the 6-week schedule period
No more than 7 days of RTO
Local candidates not accepted; home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility

Pediatrics: abdominal pain, asthma, burns, epiglottitis, head injury, hyperglycemia, identifying and reporting abuse, infections, mental/behavioral health conditions, poison ingestion, respiratory infections, seizures, sickle cell crisis, skin disorders, urinary tract infections
Psychiatric: acute psychosis, drug overdose, managing violent behavior, psychiatric hold, suicidal patient
IV therapy/phlebotomy: arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, phlebotomy, starting IVs
Respiratory: chest tube insertion/management, CPAP/BiPAP, interpretation of ABGs, intubation, ventilated patients
Medications: continuous IV paralytics, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, IV vasopressors
Neurological: CVA
Work settings: General Emergency Department-Combined Adult/Pedi, STEMI Certified Facility, Stroke Certified Facility
Cardiac monitoring and emergency response: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, management of patient with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, obtain 12 lead EKG
Professional topics and skills: isolation precautions, triage
Orthopedics: manage/apply splints

May float to all SLHS Metro EDs
Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit
