Location: Rancho Mirage, California Employment Type: Travel/Contract Specialty: Registered Nurse Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Day, 4x10 hours (6:30 to 17:00) or 3x12 hours (6:30 to 19:00) Hours: 40 per week Call and Float: Call and float required every other weekend

• Level IV trauma center with 26 operating rooms on campus, 12 of them in the main hospital, including one hybrid vascular and cardiac suite
• Largest specialties: Cancer care, Orthopedics, and Cardiac
• 12 operating rooms in the main hospital
• 6 operating rooms in outpatient Same Day Surgery
• 8 operating rooms in outpatient Orthopedics
• 3 procedure rooms in outpatient GI
• 4 procedure rooms in outpatient Pain Management

Float Scope

May float to all of the following:

• Ambulatory PACU
• Operating Room
• Orthopedics
• Outpatient Surgery
• Pre/Post Op
• Radiology, Ultrasound, Sonography, and X-Ray

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of First Assist Technician experience, with First Assist Technician experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• CRNFA (Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant)
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
• Experience working with Trauma patients
• Experience working with Neuro patients
• Experience working with Spine patients
• Experience working with Bariatric patients
• Experience working with Orthopedics patients
• Experience working with GYN patients
• Experience working with Podiatry patients
• Experience in a Surgery Center setting
• Experience in Charge roles
• Experience with robotic surgery
• Experience with Epic

Certifications and Clearances

• Primary source verification of professional license required. License must be renewed before expiration or the assignment will be cancelled.
• Criminal background check required within 30 days of start, including a 7-year search, with no pending searches at start and no placeholders accepted.
• Negative 9-panel drug screen completed within 30 days prior to start.
• Pass/fail onsite EKG exam on the first day of orientation (2 attempts; remediation required after the first failure). Study guide and attestation provided.
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification, if not on file, may be completed online before start.
• Harassment prevention training certificate required.
• Medication competency exam and unit-specific competency testing required.
• Age-specific competency exam required on hire and annually.
• Facility orientation documents and policy acknowledgements must be signed before start.
• NetLearning modules must be completed by the Monday before start.

Health Requirements

• Physical exam signed by an MD, DO, NP, or PA within 1 year of start, stating the candidate is in good physical and mental health; updated annually.
• Negative PPD, QuantiFERON-Gold, or T-SPOT within 1 year of start. Positive TB tests require a clear chest X-ray within 4 years and a TB surveillance form.
• Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B immunity documented by official laboratory titer or vaccine records. Patient name and DOB must appear on vaccine documents.
• Flu vaccination documentation for 2026-27, due 10/30, or an approved medical or religious exemption. Declinations not allowed.
• Fit testing required using approved N95 masks. PAPR accommodation is available for approved medical or religious reasons only, depending on unit availability.

Experience and References

• Minimum of 2 positive professional references.
• Dated skills checklist required.
• Annual performance evaluation on file if the candidate has worked for the organization more than 1 year, completed by a leader, manager, or supervisor.
• Annual internal evaluation on file if the candidate has worked for the organization or agency more than 1 year.
