Registered Nurse – Step Down

Location: Beaufort, South Carolina Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks, with possible extension Unit: 22-bed adult Med/Surg Oncology unit (5th floor) Schedule: Day shift, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00), 48 hours per week Shift Dates: Weekdays, every other weekend, holidays as needed, and float as needed Ratios: Stepdown 1:4–5; Med/Surg 1:5–6

Role Overview

• Med/Surg role that frequently floats to Stepdown and Med/Surg/Telemetry units. Traveler must be comfortable floating frequently.
• Scrubs are not provided. Royal blue/white scrubs are required.

Required Qualifications

• Active, valid South Carolina RN license
• 2 years of Stepdown experience
• Stepdown experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• IV insertion skills
• 2 years of Med/Surg experience

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

• Chemotherapy certification is not required for this unit.
• Government-issued photo ID, carried during all hours of service.
• Criminal background check within 30 days of start, plus EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks, updated with each contract renewal or extension.
• 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start. Instant tests are not acceptable.
• Completion of approximately 81 facility modules before the first shift and orientation. Up to 8 hours may be logged for orientation.
• Physical exam attesting to ability to meet the job's physical demands.
• Tdap within 10 years of start, or a facility-specific declination form.
• Negative TB test (QuantiFERON, T-spot, or 2-step PPD) within 1 year of start, or an annual TB questionnaire on file.
• Immunization documentation or a facility-specific declination form for measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, varicella, influenza, and COVID-19.
• Two clinical references, or a hospital evaluation.
• Performance evaluation, required if the candidate has completed any prior agency assignments.
• Badge photo meeting facility guidelines.
