PCU Float (Registered Nurse)

Location: Pasadena, California Contract Length: 8 weeks (only) Start: ASAP Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Schedule

• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 to 19:30
• 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Role Details

• 100% float pool assignment
• Must be willing to float to Tele and non-Tele units
• Ratio: 1:5

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Valid, current, unencumbered California RN license, verified through Nursys
• 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, with PCU experience within the last year
• 1 year or more of total travel experience
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Valid driver's license
• Experience with Epic

Pre-Start Requirements

• Background check (7-year) within 30 days of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks run within 30 days of start
• OFAC sanctions list search, updated annually
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of assignment, updated annually
• Physical exam or statement of health within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON, or TSPOT) annually; if positive, chest X-ray within past 5 years
• Tdap within 10 years of start
• Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella immunity (titer or 2-dose series)
• Hepatitis B immunity (titer, 3-dose series, or declination)
• Flu vaccination or documentation on file by 10/29 (religious or medical exemptions only; must wear a mask if declined)
• Fit test with approved mask types for patient care areas, updated annually
• Tuberculosis questionnaire and screening documents
• Onboarding forms and documents must be completed within 2 business days of signing the contract where time-sensitive
• Photo for badge (color, passport-style, solid background)
• Valid government-issued ID (expired IDs not accepted)

Preferred

• References: 2 required at supervisor level or above; charge nurses acceptable, but supervisor or manager references preferred
• Skills checklist current within 12 months, updated annually
• Employment history covering 7 years with no gap longer than 30 days
