Schedule

• Full-time, days and nights, 36 hours per week
• Some weekends and holidays
• Not on call

Unit and Capacity

• Pediatrics unit with 19 beds, flexing up to 26 with overflow

Required Qualifications

• Current flu vaccine. Clinicians without a flu vaccination will not be accepted during flu season, with no exceptions.

Float Scope

• Other G/C/Med-Surg areas, including Progressive Care, Neuroscience, HemOnc, and inpatient rehab

Clinical Focus

• Common diagnoses and treatments: New-onset endocrine conditions, post-PICU and stable DKA, general surgeries (tonsil/adenoidectomy, appendectomy) and wounds, post-op pectus excavatum/carinatum, burns and trauma, asthma, RSV, pneumonia, FTT, Crohn's, short gut, and chronic complex conditions (cerebral palsy, G-tube, developmental delay)
• Special procedures: Intensive diabetes management with or without CGM, implanted insulin pumps, oxygen delivery up to HFNC, stable tracheostomies without ventilators, IV infusion via PIV, PICC, CVL, TPN/IL, and PCA, NG/G/PEG tubes, ostomies, NG decompression tubes, bladder scans, and pulse oximetry without cardiac monitoring
• Line management and equipment: Drains, epidural pumps, feeding tubes, PCA pumps, PICC/central lines, port-a-cath/vascular access care, syringe pumps, traction/halo/pin care, and wound vacs
