Med Surg/Tele RN

Location: Burien, Washington Contract Length: 13 weeks Employment Type: Travel Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts/week (36 hours/week)

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of experience (Med Surg/Tele)
• At least 1 year of acute care RN experience
• Active BLS and NIHSS certifications
• Washington RN license (pending license needed to submit; temporary license takes approximately 4 weeks)

Unit Details

• Unit: Med/Surg/Tele, 31 beds
• Patient ratio: 5:1
• Nurse aide ratio: 8-10:1
• Common diagnoses: Pneumonia, cellulitis, end of life, elective joint replacement, emergent abdominal surgery, mental health, long-term placement
• Titration: RNs titrate drips, including heparin, morphine, and fentanyl
• Respiratory equipment: CPAP
• Telemetry: Remotely monitored

Schedule and Requirements

• Weekends: Every other weekend (EOW)
• Holidays: As scheduled
• On-call or standby: None
• Orientation: 1-day unit orientation
• Dress code: Any professional colors

Float Scope

• Primary assignment is the Burien facility.
• Travelers may be required to float to other facilities in the region when needed.
• May be floated to the Tele unit per rotation.
