Location: Normal, Illinois Employment Type: Clinical-Nursing Contract Length: 13 weeks Schedule: Day shift, 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois in good standing
• Minimum of 3 years of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience
• OR experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Role Overview

The staff RN is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN delivers care using the nursing process and maintains accurate documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the OR suite, including supplies, equipment, and medications
• Verify patient identity, transport patients to the OR table, and complete timeouts at key points
• Position and prep patients for procedures and support the surgical team during cases
• Complete initial patient assessments, develop and modify plans of care, and carry out nursing interventions
• Transport patients to PACU or a specific unit and hand off to the receiving RN
• Report and correct safety hazards and incidents, and fulfill departmental competencies
