Location: Rancho Mirage, California Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Unit: OR (Operating Room) Shift: Day, 4x10s (6:30 to 17:00) or 3x12s (6:30 to 19:00) Hours: 10 per day, 40 per week Call & Float: Required every other weekend Scrubs: Provided
Facility and Unit Overview
- Level IV trauma center with 26 operating rooms on campus
- 12 operating rooms in the main hospital, one of which is a hybrid vascular and cardiac suite
- 6 operating rooms in outpatient Same Day Surgery
- 8 operating rooms in outpatient Orthopedics
- 3 procedure rooms in outpatient GI
- 4 procedure rooms in outpatient Pain Management
- Float expectation: candidates may float to all of the units above, plus ambulatory PACU, orthopedics, outpatient surgery, pre/post op, and radiology/ultrasound/sonography/X-ray
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- CRNFA
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
- First Assist experience (2 years)
- First Assist experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- Experience in charge roles
- Experience in an acute care setting
- Experience in a surgery center setting
- Experience with robotic surgery
- Experience working with Neuro patients
- Experience working with Neurospine patients
- Experience working with Spine patients
- Experience working with Bariatric patients
- Experience working with Podiatry patients
- Experience working with Cardiothoracic patients
- Experience with Epic
Pre-Start Requirements
- NetLearning modules to be completed by Monday before start
- Perioperative Info Form (required for OR RNs in lieu of the nursing staffing form)
- Orientation agenda and acknowledgement form, signed before start
- Commitment to Compliance, Policies Packet, Hand Hygiene Policy, Social Media Policy, Tobacco Free Policy, and Attendance Punctuality and Call-Off Policy, all signed before start
- Mobile Heartbeat Guidelines and Infection Prevention Module acknowledgement, completed before start
- EKG attestation and study guide, signed before start
