BMT Oncology RN

Role Overview

Travel/Contract RN in BMT Oncology
Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
13-week contract
Floating is required throughout the Oncology department as needed, and the nurse may be floated to the unit with the greatest need each shift
Ratio: 4:1
Average daily census: 30
Unit has 32 beds/rooms
Every other weekend required
Will accept first-time travelers

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Missouri
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Oncology (1 year of experience)
Oncology experience within the last year
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
ONS/ONCC
Must pass Relias EKG exam; Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias required
Chemo cert required
Required skills:
- Administration of chemotherapy
- Accessing and managing ports
- Administration of blood and blood products
- Central line blood draw
- Central line/implanted line care
- PICC line care
- Starting and maintaining IVs
- Antibiotics
- Antiemetics
- Foley catheter insertion/management
- Isolation Precautions
- Telemetry interpretation
- Telemetry monitoring

Cons

Just parking if you work dayshift have to take a shuttle to hospital and park far in a parking lot. Nightshift you can park in the garage.
