Registered Nurse - PCU

Overview

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Float scope: All travelers are subject to float between all system campuses.

Schedule

• Day shift, 3x12s, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM (12 hours per day, 36 hours per week)
• Every other weekend
• Holidays as needed
• No call

Unit

• Unit: Fourth Floor Progressive Care Department
• Size: All private, 45 beds, on the East and West sides of the fourth floor
• Monitoring: All rooms are remotely monitored by the Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Department (CCMD).

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a PCU (Progressive Care Unit)
• PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification
• Valid driver's license
• Experience with Epic

Preferred

• TNCC and CPI may be preferred for certain units.

Onboarding Requirements

• Background check completed within 60 days of start, covering the past 7 years.
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start.
• Negative TB test (QuantiFERON or T-SPOT) within 6 months of start, plus a TB questionnaire.
• Tdap, MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), varicella, and hepatitis B documentation.
• Flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption during flu season.
• N95 fit test, updated annually.
• Physical exam within 12 months of start.
• Two supervisory references: one from an assignment within the last 12 months and one from within the last 24 months.
• Employment application with 7-year work history, and verification of employment history for the last 5 years.
