Overview
- Travel contract in Los Angeles, California
- 13-week contract
- 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend
- First to float
Required Qualifications
- Active CA RN license
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring
- 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
- Experience with high-risk deliveries
- Experience with circulating for C-sections
Preferred
- Scrubbing for C-sections
- Travel experience
- Familiarity with pitocin, mag sulfate, and insulin drips
Unit Details
- L&D/PP - Perinatal unit
- 12 L&D beds
- 10 triage beds
- 12 antepartum beds
- About 200 births per month
Clinical Setting
- Follows AWHONN guidelines for ratios
- Fetal Link fetal monitoring system
- Cerner EMR
- 2 OB techs scheduled per shift
- Charge nurse takes a patient assignment if needed
- OB attending in house 24/7
- Neonatologist in house 24/7
- RT available 24/7 from NICU
- Pharmacy available 24/7
Float Scope
- Floats to antepartum and postpartum
Other Details
- No call required
- One major and two minor holidays
- Scrubs provided; must be sterile
- No vents
- No IV team
- No acrylic or overlay nails during the assignment
