Registered Nurse – ICU

Location: Ponca City, Oklahoma Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 12 weeks Schedule: Day shift, 3x12 hours, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, with a 30-minute lunch Hours: 12 per day, 36 per week

Unit and Assignment

10-bed ICU unit, currently staffed with 2 RNs per shift for 5 patients
Occasional Med/Surg overflow patients may be placed among the 5 patients if Med/Surg is full and the ICU can accept them

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Oklahoma
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience of at least 1 year, with ICU experience within the last year
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Valid driver's license

Background and Screening

7-year criminal background check completed within 30 days of start, updated annually
Background checks including sanctions and exclusion list searches (OFAC, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG) completed within 30 days of start, with monthly attestations
Negative 8-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
Positive THC results are not acceptable for clinical roles. The facility receives federal funding, and certain units will not accept a positive marijuana result.

Health and Immunizations

Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by a physician, PA, NP, or APRN, stating the candidate is in good health, free of communicable diseases, and has no physical limitations to perform job duties
TB screening: negative 2-step PPD, QuantiFERON, or T-SPOT within 12 months of start. A history of a positive TB test requires a TB questionnaire and a clear chest X-ray within 5 years prior to start.

Measles (rubeola), mumps, and rubella: 2 vaccines or a positive titer. Medical exemptions only; declinations and religious exemptions are not accepted.
Hepatitis B: declination within the last year, a completed 3-dose series, or a positive IgG titer; declinations required annually
Varicella: 2 vaccines, a positive titer, or history of chicken pox. Medical exemptions only; religious exemptions and declinations are not accepted.
Flu vaccine required for new starts beginning October 1 through March 31, or an approved medical or religious exemption on file by November 30. Declinations and receipts are not accepted.
COVID vaccination is strongly preferred before start; declinations are acceptable.
Fit test: N95 fit test required within 1 year of start, completed on site; PAPRs are allowed.

Current, valid driver's license or state ID
Utility bill in the candidate's name with a matching address from the last 3 months; the address must be more than 75 miles from the facility
Vehicle information form, completed before start
Facility acknowledgments completed before start: code of ethical business conduct, policy acknowledgment, confidentiality and information access agreement, drug and alcohol-free workplace policy, and Oklahoma Offender Registration Act
Oklahoma Medical Treatment Law form, completed before start and renewed every 2 years
HIPAA and OSHA acknowledgments on file, updated annually

Orientation

All RNs must attend the patient care orientation class (skills)
Candidates without electronic health record experience within the last 6 months must complete an electronic health record class before receiving their schedule
