Job info

Prepare thin slices of human, animal, or plant tissue on slides for analysis
Examine, fix, and process tissue to preserve samples
Embed tissue in paraffin wax
Cut tissue samples with a microtome or cryostat
Mount tissue samples on slides
Stain or dye samples to emphasize abnormalities
Recognize factors that affect procedures and quality results, and take corrective action when needed
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of equipment and instruments
Manage supplies and laboratory quality-control procedures, as needed

2 years of experience as a Histology Technologist, with recent Histology Technologist experience within the last year
HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) certification
