Registered Nurse, 4 South (Medical Surgical)

Overview

• Location: Anderson, South Carolina
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Unit: 4 South
• Ratio: 1:6
• Shift: Night, 3x12 hours (18:45 to 7:15)
• Hours: 12 per day, 36 per week
• Weekends: Every other weekend
• Schedule: Block schedule not accommodated
• Float: Required to float to other MS units as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Med Surg experience of at least 1 year, with experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Red Cross (ARC), American Heart Association (AHA), United States Department of Defense, or RQI
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) is preferred but not required for ER.

Health Requirements

• Physical exam: Within 1 year, stating good physical health
• TB: Either two PPDs (one within 1 year of start and one within 3 months) or a QuantiFERON Gold or TSpot within 3 months. Past positive TB test requires a chest X-ray within 5 years.
• Drug screen: 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (instant acceptable). Not required annually.
• Immunity: Rubeola, mumps, rubella, and varicella each require a titer or two vaccines. Low or equivocal titers require one booster. Hepatitis B requires a titer, vaccine series, or declination.
• Color blindness: Ishihara test required for RN candidates.
• Respirator fit test: Annual, required.
• Flu: Vaccination or facility exemption required during flu season (10/31 to 04/01). Medical exemptions need supporting documentation. Work-order deadline is 10/31 at 4 p.m.

Facility Requirements

• Online orientation with emailed confirmation of completion before clearance to start
• Facility COVID policy review before start
• Stroke education and acknowledgment, if working one year or longer
• Core Parts I through III, for candidates who have worked with the facility for one year or more
• Performance evaluation within 1 year of start, if worked with the facility over one year (two professional references within 1 year accepted in lieu)
• Badge photo (clear .jpg headshot) before start
