MS/Tele Travel/Contract RN

Overview

• Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours: 48 per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Ratio: 1:6
• Scheduling: Preferred scheduling
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Scrubs: Navy

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• 2 or more completed travel assignments
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS
• IV insertion skills
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of dysrhythmias

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification: ACLS

Unit Details

• Unit focus: Stroke patients, possible Neurosurgery patients, and other Neuro diagnoses including Epilepsy, traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas
• Unit size: 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)
• Census: 42 daily census
• Rooms/beds: 43 rooms/beds

Float Scope

• Floating required to other MS/Tele areas, including COVID care units
• Frequent floating may be required

Additional Notes

• RTO after booking is not allowed
• Call-offs or additional RTO on unit may result in cancellation and DNR
• If RTO includes weekends, time will be added to the end of the contract to make up those dates
• If a traveler calls out of a scheduled weekend shift, they must make up the weekend shifts based on unit needs
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed
