ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Redlands, California Start Date: 12/08 (candidate must be preclosed for this date at submission) Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Night, 3x12 hours (19:00 to 07:30) Hours: 12 per day, 36 per week Time Off: Single set of RTO up to 7 consecutive days will be considered. No holiday RTO. Coverage: Minimum weekend coverage is every other weekend. Orientation: 24 hours

Requirements

• Valid RN license in California
• ED - Emergency Department (1.5 years of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience working with Adult patients
• Experience with central line management
• IV insertion skills
• Experience with continuous IV sedation
• Experience with IV vasopressors
• Experience with ventilator management
• Experience with CPAP/BiPAP
• Experience with triage

Work Environment

• Fast-paced ER
• Provider coverage includes intensivist, NP, hospitalist, and anesthesiologist
• Support services include interpretation, lift teams, pharmacy, phlebotomy, physical therapy, radiology, respiratory, social services, and unit secretary
• Systems: Omnicell medication system and Meditech documentation

Onboarding Requirements

• Identification: Unexpired government photo ID (front only; passport accepted in place of driver's license)
• Background: Background check and EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start; background check updated annually
• Drug screen: 10-panel including THC within 30 days of start (instant tests accepted if they include all required panels; lab reports only, not summaries)
• TB: QuantiFERON, 2-step PPD, or T-Spot within 90 days of start, updated annually; past positives require a TB questionnaire and CXR
• Immunizations and titers: Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B positive titers within 90 days of start, or vaccines administered within 90 days; Tdap within 10 years or declination (must wear a mask if declined); COVID vaccines plus booster or approved exemption; flu vaccine or declination by 10/31 (must wear a mask if declined)
• Health: Physician physical exam statement within 12 months, updated annually; respirator fit testing; in-office Ishihara color blind test
• History: Two professional references within 3 years; resume; work history verification of most recent employer; skills checklist annually
• Other: E-Verify attestation, facility-specific forms and policy acknowledgments, and required competency exams
