Overview

• Travel/Contract role in New Haven, Connecticut
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:00
• 36 hours per week
• Guaranteed hours

• PICU
• Average nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2
• Short Term Acute Care facility
• Level I Trauma Center
• Total staffed beds: 1,567

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Connecticut
• PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care (3 years of experience)
• PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Must float to other pediatric units as needed and only perform scope of practice
• Every other weekend
• Pending license accepted

Preferred

• Experience in cardiac critical care
• CRRT
• ECMO certs

Additional Notes

• First-timers not accepted
• On-call not required
• Block schedule not accommodated
• RTO requests are considered based on unit needs; extended time off, especially around holidays, may not be approved
• Travelers will float within the children’s hospital as needed, including Pediatric ED, NNICU, inpatient departments, and Wini 1 (psych)
• Charting: Epic
• Scrub color: Royal blue
• Parking: $125/month
