Location: Chapel Hill, North Carolina Specialty: Nursing: RN-Apheresis Employment Type: Clinical-Nursing Shift: Days, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in a hospital setting. Reports and is accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director. Responsibilities include coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process, patient education, point-of-care testing, care planning, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Patient Population and Clinical Scope

• Treats both adults and pediatric patients
• Inpatient and outpatient position
• Some peripheral access, but most patients have ports that the candidate must access
• Primary equipment: Optia

Required Qualifications

• Licensure: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience: One (1) year of apheresis experience, with apheresis experience within the last year
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Clinical Skill: Ability to access patients' central venous access ports
• Equipment: Experience with the Optia apheresis device
