Case Manager RN

Schedule and Hours

• Shift: Day, 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 to 17:30), 40 hours per week
• Guaranteed hours: 70 hours per 2 weeks. A traveler can be called off for one 10-hour shift per 2 weeks.
• On-call required: No
• Weekend required: Yes, every other weekend or 4 weekend days in a 4-week schedule
• Block schedule accommodated: No
• Time off requests: One time-off request per 13-week assignment, for 5 days or less. No holiday time off for Auto Offer.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Alaska RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Acute care experience
• Case Management experience: 1 year, with experience within the last year
• Experience with Epic

Facility and Work Environment

• Facility type: Acute hospital
• Designation: Magnet facility, Level II trauma center, USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska
• Total staffed beds: 407
• Charting system: Epic (software familiarity, not a credential)
• Scrubs: Provided
• Parking: Free
• Float: Travelers may float within scope to meet facility needs.
• Locals: Not accepted. Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
• First-time travelers: Accepted

Onboarding and Compliance

• Background check: Completed within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived or worked in the past 7 years. Updated annually.
• Drug screen: 9-panel within 12 months of start. Instant results are acceptable.
• Physical exam: Completed within 1 year of start, signed by an MD, NP, PA, or DO.
• TB screening: Negative IGRA/TSPOT, QuantiFERON Gold, or 2 PPDs within 12 months of start.
• Vaccinations and records: Tdap within 10 years (declination accepted). MMR, varicella, and Hepatitis B records or declination are required for clinical candidates. Alaska requires the Hepatitis B vaccine series.
• Flu and COVID: Vaccine or declination documentation required.
• Respirator clearance: Required annually, with a fit test completed onsite if no valid record exists within 1 year.
• Alaska fingerprinting: Required. Previously completed Alaska fingerprint results are not accepted.
• Education verification: Third-party verification of nursing degree required.
• References: Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting.
• Employment application: Must include at least the last 5 years of employment.
• Annual training: Required annually through the learning management system. Regional core modules and float policy acknowledgment are also required.
