Role Summary

MedSurg Nurses provide care for primarily adult patients before and after surgical procedures and for patients being treated with pharmaceuticals to manage illness.

Required Qualifications

Valid LPN / LVN license in Alaska
Graduation from a nursing education program
Med Surg (1 year of experience)
Med Surg experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association

Schedule

Shifts are typically 3 12-hour shifts, either 7:00am–7:30pm or 7:00pm–7:30am
On-call night shifts
12-hour variable shifts

Float Scope

Does not float to other units/departments

Unit Details

Nurse-to-patient ratio: 6 patients to 1 LPN

Meditech

Dress Code

Bring own scrubs
All colors approved except royal blue, forest green, and bright red
