Cardiovascular Stepdown RN

Overview

• Travel assignment in Newburgh, Indiana
• 13-week contract
• Nights, 12-hour shifts: 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• No local candidates within a 40-mile radius
• No blocked schedule requests accepted

Required Qualifications

• Indiana single-state RN license
• AHA BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• 2 years of experience in the specialty
• 1 completed travel assignment required
• Must be experienced in pre/post cath lab/EP procedures, PACU recovery, and cardiac surgery admissions
• Must be able to pass tele tests
• EPIC charting experience
• Required skills include:

  • Start IVs
  • Radial artery sheath removal
  • TR bands
  • Arterial line management
  • Manage/titrate cardiac drips
  • Cardioversions
  • Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation

Preferred Qualifications

• CUPID experience

Unit Details

• 31-bed unit
• Pre/Post procedure Cath Lab
• Surgery admissions
• Observation patients

Float Scope

• May float to other cardiac, stepdown, or tele units
• May float between Midtown, Gateway, and Heart Hospital

Schedule and Work Expectations

• Every other weekend and holiday
• Nights float at least once a week; day-shift floating is less frequent
• 3 call-ins can result in termination
• Teaching hospital; may require precepting students and new hires

• Pre/Post Cath Lab/EP Lab procedures
• PACU recovery
• Cardiac surgery admissions
• TAVR/LAAO recoveries
• Antiarrhythmics
• Cardiac observation patients
• Bedside experience
