Overview

• Location: Mount Vernon, Illinois
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Unit: PCU (progressive care unit)

Schedule

• Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 19:00 to 07:30
• Shift options: 3x12 or 4x12 accepted
• Days: Monday through Thursday, with occasional weekend shifts
• Hours: 12 per day, 36 per week
• On-call: No on-call expectation
• Holidays: Must be able to work 2 of 4 winter holidays, depending on scheduling needs

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• 1 year of PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience, completed within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association or RQI
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic

Clinical Skills and Focus

• Telemetry and cardiac telemetry
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Starting IVs, chest tubes, cardiac drips, bedside cardioversion
• Patient populations and conditions: COPD, CAD, CHF, AFib, sepsis, COVID

Onboarding and Compliance

• Facility modules must be completed by the compliance due date, and they are not billable.
• Sign the confidentiality and security agreement and the standards of ethical conduct policy before start.
• Submit a passport-style badge photo (shoulders up, plain white or off-white background, JPEG).
• Complete orientation and glucometer assessment forms and return them within the stated deadlines.
