Case Manager and Utilization Review RN

Location: Irvine, California Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Day (5x8 hours), 8:00 to 16:30 Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week Schedule: Weekends required

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• 5 years of case management experience, with case management experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Experience in a Long Term Acute Care, Rehabilitation, or Skilled Nursing setting
• Experience with utilization review (InterQual)
• Utilize Milliman Guidelines
• UR Admission Criteria
• UR Appeals and Denials
• UR Concurrent Review and UR Continued Stay Reviews
• UR Medical Necessity
• UR Retrospective Review
• Experience with discharge planning
• Experience with medical coding
• Experience with Epic

Onboarding Requirements

• Background check within 1 year of start, covering all locations lived, worked, or attended school in the past 7 years, updated annually, including Social Security trace, counties, nationwide criminal search, national sex offender search, and education verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks, required
• Government-issued photo ID
• Passport-style photo for badge, required
• Physical exam with physician statement within the last 12 months
• TB screening: 2-step PPD (one within 8 weeks of start and one within 12 months), or QuantiFERON/T-SPOT in lieu of 2 PPDs; chest X-ray required for a history of positive TB test; TB questionnaire required annually
• Measles, mumps, and rubella immunity: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
• Hepatitis B series or positive titer; declination only with proof of non-immunity
• Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer, or signed declination
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years, or declination form
• Influenza vaccination or facility-approved exemption before start during flu season
• 10-panel oral drug screen, including THC, within 1 year of start
• Fit test for N95 mask within 12 months before start, updated annually; RespSafety clearance required annually for respirator use
• Employment application and annual skills checklist
• Forms: job description acknowledgement, EHS information, health focus questionnaire, and COVID declination if the booster was not administered on or after September 2023; religious or medical exemption forms if requested, which are time-sensitive and require facility approval
