Location: Corbin, Kentucky Specialty: Hospital - Direct Patient Care (Nursing) Unit: 3 North med-surg / tele Employment Type: Clinical–Nursing Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• 3 twelve-hour shifts per week (36 hours per week)
• Night shift: 7 PM to 7 AM

Role Summary

The RN provides direct patient care on the unit, including nursing rounds, assessments, treatments, admissions, transfers, and discharges. The RN also provides patient and family education, care coordination, and individualized treatment planning. Responsibilities include:

• Performing and documenting comprehensive patient assessments
• Prioritizing patient needs and setting priorities for multiple patients
• Recognizing and communicating changes in patient condition
• Delegating tasks and overseeing team members' patient care
• Executing discharge orders and coordinating discharge plans with Case Management
• Participating in unit quality improvement activities, including patient satisfaction, falls, pressure ulcers, CAUTIs, and documentation audits

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Valid RN license in Kentucky
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience: 1 year, completed within the last year
• BLS certification
• Experience with wound care
• IV insertion skills
