We are seeking an experienced Travel Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse for a 13-week assignment in Big Spring, Texas. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions, monitor patient progress, administer medications and treatments, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support safe, high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients, monitor vital signs, and identify changes in clinical condition.
• Develop, implement and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products and prescribed treatments.
• Start and maintain peripheral IV lines and manage vascular access devices.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to emergencies and rapid response calls.
• Provide oxygen therapy and support patients with respiratory needs.
• Follow infection prevention, isolation and patient safety protocols.
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses in the medical record.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, pharmacy, social services and other care team members.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications and discharge instructions.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for the assignment location.
• BLS certification.
• At least 2 years of nursing experience, as specified in the job overview.
• Previous travel nursing experience, as specified in the job overview.
• Strong Medical-Surgical nursing skills and the ability to manage a patient assignment of approximately 1:5.
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and an alternating 36/48-hour schedule.
