Job Summary

Intermediate Care Unit position providing care for adult medical cardiology and cardiac and thoracic surgery patients requiring telemetry monitoring and advanced clinical interventions. The role supports patients receiving temporary cardiac pacing, vasoactive and anticoagulant medication infusions, postoperative care, and arrhythmia management in a collaborative clinical environment.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications; minimum of 2 years of experience; large Level I or Level II trauma experience; Iowa or compact nursing license.
• Additional Information: The unit provides care for adult medical cardiology, cardiac and thoracic surgery, telemetry monitoring, temporary cardiac pacing, vasoactive and anticoagulant medication infusions, and postoperative patients. Clinical responsibilities may include caring for patients following esophagectomies, Nissen fundoplications, thoracotomies, heart transplantation, coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve replacements, and transcatheter aortic valve replacements (TAVR), as well as patients with cardiomyopathy, pulmonary hypertension, chest pain, post-percutaneous coronary interventions, arrhythmias, and left ventricular assist devices (LVAD). Holiday coverage is expected.
