Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit is responsible for providing exceptional patient care for individuals with cardiac conditions. This role involves utilizing the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of patients. The RN will collaborate with all members of the healthcare team while promoting evidence-based practices in a supportive environment for patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in condition.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and families.
- Document nursing interventions and patient responses accurately in the medical record.
Required Experience
At least 1 year of Critical Care experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital setting is required.
Certifications/Licensure
- Valid New Jersey Nursing License is required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification is required.
- CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) certification is strongly preferred.
